This last week or so, I’ve come across some truly amazing new music. With the lack of playlist postings as of late, I thought it would actually be more fitting to ignore all that is new, and revisit some older songs that are showing some extra meaning at this current time in my life.
Yes, I’ve included a couple of fresh tracks. But, pay attention to the content of each. That’s what is really important with this week’s playlist.
Lyrically, these are some true gems.

Another year has come, another year has gone. With that year, memories of laughter, joy, heartbreak, and loss. Throughout it all, the constants are what remain atop our memory of what was 2012. What greater constant to recall than that of music.
Throughout the journey of the last twelve months, we’ve all been immersed in music of different likings. What follows, are my 25 favorite tunes of the time that was. If you know some, enjoy. If there are some new tracks you’ve yet to hear, I am pleased to introduce you to some great songs (in my opinion, of course).

10. The Art of Almost- Wilco (Spotify)
9. Will Do- TV on the Radio (Spotify)
8. Video Games- Lana Del Rey (Spotify)
7. The Wilhelm Scream- James Blake (Spotify)
6. Lonely Boy- The Black Keys (Spotify)

4. Barton Hollow- The Civil Wars (Spotify)
3. Helplessness Blues- Fleet Foxes (Spotify)
2. Holocene- Bon Iver (Spotify)

At the end of the playlist I linked you to, I’ve included several honorable mentions. While I didn’t listened to these songs quite as much as the ten above, they still stood out to me this last year. They were some of the more powerful, and just flat out incredible songs of the year (IMO), and feel they should also be shared.
